Heritage Auction Tags
The 2024 banquet will feature an auction for a Nevada Heritage Tag (similar to other states’ “Governor’s Tags”). A Desert Bighorn Sheep tag and a California Bighorn Sheep tag will be available for purchase with the successful bidder having the opportunity to hunt statewide, with any legal weapon, during liberal season calendars. Nevada Department of Wildlife’s Heritage for Wildlife Trust Fund
The auction price of the Heritage tags have increased dramatically with the proceeds from these tags going directly to Nevada Department of Wildlife’s heritage for Wildlife Trust Fund. By statute, only the interest from this trust fund can be expended, and the monies can only be utilized in Fish and Wildlife programs.
Awards are also given honoring the generous support of individuals and organizations for their contributions to NBU and Nevada’s wildlife. Children attending the event also receive special attention with their own drawings and prizes awarded.
NBU’s programs and projects involving big game reintroduction, habitat improvement, education, and research is only possible through the contributions, combined efforts and support of concerned community leaders, generous organizations and conscientious individuals.
The success and participation each year at NBU’s banquet, as well as NBU’s growing membership are evidence that we are on the right track.
